We’re Proud to Be E-Bike Positive

As part of the E-Bike Positive movement, we’re committed to supporting safe, legal and responsible e-biking. That means we only work with certified e-bikes and trusted components – no risky conversions or dodgy batteries. Whether you're riding through Portishead or heading further afield, we’re here to keep your e-bike reliable, safe, and road-ready.

Can you repair my e-bike battery or motor?

We support certified, road-legal e-bikes (EAPCs) with motors rated at 250W or less. While we don’t open or repair batteries or motors directly, we can diagnose issues, check for warranty eligibility, and help source genuine replacement parts from trusted suppliers.

How do I know if my e-bike is road legal?

A UK road-legal e-bike (EAPC) must have working pedals, a motor rated at 250W or less, and electric assist that cuts out at 15.5 mph. If you're unsure, just bring it in – we’re happy to check and advise.
Note: We do not service throttle-only bikes or modified kits that fall outside legal EAPC rules.

Do you service all e-bike brands?

We work on most major e-bike brands that comply with UK EAPC regulations – including Bosch, Shimano, Yamaha, Mahle, and Bafang systems. We’ll assess compatibility before we begin any work and let you know if we can help.

Can you help with electrical faults or error codes?

Yes! We use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot e-bike electrical issues, including error codes, display malfunctions, and motor cutouts. We’ll help pinpoint the problem and recommend the right fix – whether that’s a software reset, connection check, or replacement part.

Can I bring in an e-bike I built myself or bought online?

We only work on approved e-bikes that meet UK safety and legal standards. If your e-bike is road legal and safe to ride, we’ll be glad to help. We don’t service non-compliant imports, throttle-only kits, or unbranded conversions.

Can I book a full e-bike check-up or maintenance service?

Absolutely. We offer e-bike specific tune-ups, including drivetrain cleaning, brake and gear adjustments, firmware checks (where supported), and general safety inspections. Book online or drop in to our Portishead workshop – walk-ins welcome!
